Smoothies are one of my favourite ways to start the day. They’re quick and easy and I can drink them on the way to work as I’ll never get up early enough to eat at home; I need my sleep!
I also find they’re a great way to get in a load of fruit and veggies as well as some extra protein. I always prep mine the night before so that in the morning I just have to add milk, blend and go.
So here’s my favourite one. Banana, blueberries, spinach, peanut butter and chocolate protein. It’s seriously delicious. What I sometimes do is make smoothie bags on Sunday, where I bag up a chopped banana, the blueberries and spinach; then the night before I weigh out my protein and peanut butter. All I have to do in the morning is add it together and mix it with almond milk. If you do this you’ll find the smoothie is much thicker and might require a bit more liquid as otherwise it’s more like a smoothie bowl and can be difficult to drink.
Experiment with different berries and see how you get on; it’s a fab way to start the day!
