Coleslaw. A traditional accompaniment to most British BBQs. Creamy and tangy, I used to love it before I turned vegan. Although I was always slightly wary by just how much mayo there used to be.
This recipe came about following our vegan croissant recipe. We noticed a large number of people were wondering where to find a vegan butter to make our croissants. Whilst we were recommending Miyokos Kitchen butter, it isn’t available worldwide which meant some people were struggling to find what was best.
As we all know, I love trying new places, but it’s so easy to fall back into the hole of going back to places you’ve been to before. If you know something is good, why try anywhere else? This is what we nearly ended up doing on Saturday. Wanting to book somewhere for dinner, we wanted to go back to Smith and Daughters; admittedly they have a new menu, but it’s still not a new place. As someone who has only been in Melbourne for 7 months, I don’t quite have the same passion towards The Pancake Parlour as those who have grown up here. In fact, due to it not having any vegan options, it was somewhere I’d only ever given a courteous glance towards.
